This distribution includes the complete maintained source for this edition:

  apeari.php            Plugin header, activation and startup.
  src/                  PHP implementation and class autoloader.
  views/                PHP administrator views.
  assets/js/            Original editable JavaScript loaded by WordPress.
  assets/css/           Original editable CSS loaded by WordPress.
  resources/prompts/    Plain-text instructions for the AI features.
  languages/apeari.pot  Translation template covering PHP and JavaScript.

In particular, assets/js/editor/editor.js and assets/js/preview/bridge.js are
source files, not compiled or minified bundles. Their template literals hold
the editor markup and the preview shadow DOM's markup and styles. They do not
have separate, omitted source files or require a JavaScript build step.

Development

Edit the distributed PHP, JavaScript, CSS and prompt files directly. There is
no compilation, transpilation, bundling, minification or dependency download.
WordPress supplies the wp.* browser libraries declared in the enqueue calls;
no third-party JavaScript library is bundled in this edition. A working
WordPress installation (6.5+, PHP 8.0+) is needed to run the plugin. No API key
or external service is needed to exercise local demo mode.

To regenerate the translation template, the optional WP-CLI i18n command is:

  wp i18n make-pot . languages/apeari.pot --domain=apeari

Run it from the apeari directory, with WP-CLI's i18n command available. This
updates translation metadata; it does not produce the executable assets.

Packaging the WordPress.org edition

Place this entire apeari directory at the top level of a ZIP. For example,
from its parent directory with standard zip installed:

  zip -r apeari-1.2.7-wordpress-org.zip apeari

Alternatively use a ZIP application, preserving the same directory layout.
No additional source or asset-generation tool is needed. This directory
edition uses WordPress.org updates; the separately distributed website
edition contains an external updater that is absent from this ZIP.
