Key Concepts
Routes
Routes are the core content type. Each route represents a cycling (or walking/running) route with a GPX track, distance, elevation, and optional tea stop destinations. Routes are stored as custom post types in WordPress.
Destinations
Destinations (also known as "tea stops") are curated locations such as cafés, bike shops, or points of interest that can be associated with routes. The plugin calculates which destinations are near each route automatically.
Markers
Markers are visual icons displayed on maps. There are different marker types (templates) that define appearance, and marker entities (actual locations) that use those types.
Groups & Profiles
Routes can be categorised by Club Groups (rider ability), Climbing Profiles (hilliness), and Activity Types (road, gravel, MTB, etc.). These enable powerful filtering on the route finder page.
